So, it's my pleasure to introduce Attraction Mitch and Magnanimous Milly who have different viewpoints about network marketing.
Now the first question has always puzzled me. Is it true that as many as 95% of networkers do not have success in multi-level marketing. What’s your opinion about why?
MITCH: basically ONE reason...too many get set up with a website and also a lottery- like mentality that’s all it takes. Now couple that with a lack of internet marketing experience and this website doesn’t produce for them. You need to establish a relationship and trust before becoming business partners…and you need to work at it.
MILLY: A number of reasons ... I agree most people have no real marketing
training. Sometimes the product may be questionable, the comp plan doesn’t pay enough or the company itself can go under. We need to do more to protect the rights of the distributor and a recent development is helping to do just that.
HOST: So there seems to be agreement on internet marketing training as a component...after all it is a distribution business. So what are some of the first steps that new distributors need to do?
MITCH: Our goal is to build an internet empire with leadership as the greatest commodity. So we try to develop experts that others will follow. We don’t believe that friends and family should be bothered and we look for prospects that are open to our leadership programs.
MILLY: Let’s remember that network marketing is founded on the principles of average people looking for and deserving a better lifestyle based on a small start up cost and sweat equity. It has never been about cultivating and duplicating leaders although they obviously serve a purpose. Personally, I’m not that into exemplifying myself as a leader at a podium but I do want to be the best networker by helping other people succeed. Besides, if an opportunity is good enough for a "virtual " stranger then it should also be good enough for my friends. Who doesn’t believe in good health choices and making some extra money from home?
HOST: So give me some examples of how you would build leaders in network marketing. Is this different from internet marketing?
MITCH: We do have an outlined blueprint system for internet marketers that helps them build a list with even some monetary gains on the "back end". We have all the "transformational technology" to take you from zero to hero... DVD’s, training centers, conference calls, tons of experts. We cover topics like keyword research, making money with your blogs, using Facebook on autopilot, article marketing domination, list building strategies, closing techniques, ezines, solo ads, classifieds and forums, Twitter, YouTube ...you can follow the best.
HOST: That’s quite an online smorgasbord…Now another fact is that 90% of networkers are part-time versus full time...how can you fit in the time factor to do all this?
MILLY: Undoubtedly, it works for some red hot online marketers and they have the 7 figures to prove it. But for an average person like myself, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes just to place ONE ad in an ezine and who likes to write, period? Certainly, a common excuse is I don’t have time…I’m so busy just surviving with everything else.
We must offer the public some options.
Yes, you can go the route of " transformational technology." In fact, it is smart public relations in any business to post your profile on social networks and online communities as long as time management doesn’t become an issue.
And yes, we can also keep it simple.
Two questions suffice: What do you really want? What really works for you?
And the easiest thing that everyone can do is share a video, follow-up with a phone call and invitation to a webinar...in other words, get a top CEO to work on your behalf by telling the whole story for you.
My passion is to make sure everybody understands the true nature of this home business based on a fair and democratic marketing plan, trustworthy relationships and word of mouth sharing good products and a risk free way of earning supplementary income.
HOST: So why do you think network marketing is viewed negatively by so many people...even if you apply this equality factor ?
MILLY: I agree that public perception needs to be vastly improved. The good news is where there is a need, a program will appear that addresses some of these concerns. Traditionally, an interested person would join a MLM company, buy into a substantial autoship to qualify for commissions, expect to do the Mitch kind of training and prospecting, online or offline, and hope others will also follow this expensive and time consuming process. Been there, done that, and the key to duplication was almost impossible to pass on…so I wouldn’t recommend anything complicated...general rule is just 3 steps.
It was my great fortune to discover a new kid on the block that offers a kind of insurance plan for networkers. It is social network of entrepreneurs called Own Your Channel that works independently of any MLM company.
When your home-based team is large enough, then you are ready to join a network marketing company and make profits from day one. There is no risk, very low cost ($9 monthly) and training is based on sharing a compelling video. You don’t need to know about the industry, the company, the products, the comp plan, selling techniques, life coaches, personal development worksheets...don't we all want to be better given an equal chance?
They say success is the child of hope...so why not make success a simple 3 steps process?
HOST: Sounds like a viable alternative. That’s a definite change...invite people to take another look at how multi-level works outside of any particular company.
MITCH: Our motto is get off the fence and get a life. If you want the gold mine, we have all the tools...even if you have to take out a loan just to get your online marketing education. Some networkers are willing to pay $3 to $5 per "real" lead. But what about you? In fact, if you can’t stand the heat in this system, remove yourself from our list. In fact, one of my top producers recently won $140,000 automobile by helping to massively promote my newest marketing program.
MILLY: Congratulations. I would’ve expected no less because established multi-millionaire online marketers have the staff and advertising resources to sweep the worldwide web. But personally, I would rather spend precious time with my family than emulate your expertise. The internet is unimaginably competitive...described as shark-like...you better know what you’re doing. You know, Mitch, my concern is with every day people like me who try hard without the time luxury of becoming an internet guru. We have families, jobs and communities to support. We may not have the democracy of similar backgrounds but we have equality of hope for security and success.
Give us a professional website, a webinar to share and a phone call to follow-up and a motivation to help and share wellness and profits. My business model is about sharing with two people who in turn share with two people each who see the "big picture."
HOST: Well, we do agree on one thing that new people need a helping hand in a changing economy. If you look at the internet, it is a vast and confusing place filled with personal pitches and agendas. As always, there needs to be due diligence within the whole spectrum from heavy-duty internet marketing to low-key person-to-person conversations. Hopefully, there are degrees of integration with being a top internet marketer and a more home-based entrepreneur helping people with simple fundamentals.
In closing, do you have a summary statement?
MITCH…in the real world its location, location, location...master the internet world with automation, automation, automation. By the way, we have the latest "stuff on the stick" which is all about Google pay per clicks with a networker that makes million using them.
MILLY: I invite both veteran networkers and new people, baby boomers and the internet savvy up-coming Y Generation to check out new standards, protection and true independence in network marketing with a new company called Own Your Channel. Watch the videos, including LGN Prosperity and Pay it Forward.
I welcome an honest dialogue.
This time, let’s keep this a people’s business not a conspiracy of the elite.
If I may, I’d like to share one quote:
"I expect to pass through this life but once.
If, therefore there can be any kindness I can show
or any good thing I can do for any fellow being
let me do it now... as I shall not pass this way again."
